Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 339 – 11/19/2020

I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I’ve been running ev’r since
It’s been a long time, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will It’s been too hard living, but I’m afraid to die
‘Cause I don’t know what’s up there, beyond the sky
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep tellin’ me don’t hang around
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will Then I go to my brother
And I say brother help me please
But he winds up knockin’ me
Back down on my knees, oh There have been times that I thought I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able to carry on
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will

~ Sam Cooke ~

i turn again to MLK for the keepin’ the faith inspiration we all need to re-member the change is coming as so many courageous souls with every breath vision the life-sustaining world, the beautiful world we all want and how do we get there… i know in my heart that how we get there is where we get which is why it is critical for us to come together and stand for love… this path of peacefully saying no to hatred in all its forms in an affirmative, fiercely loving way, speaking truth to power is the way of all successful movements effecting lasting change…  when we use any other tactics – of force and fight, words of denigration and the like – this is what we’ll create so as we wage peace and love and beauty and appreciation, all our thoughts words and deeds must be expressed peacefully, lovingly, beautifully and appreciatively…

so, i’ll say again and again, now is the moment of eternity to dig deep within right down to the core, to the stillpoint, to our essence, our essence of peace, love, gratitude and beauty to be impeccable in cultivating what we create in the world…

knowing the change is coming, let us stand in solidarity peacefully for the even more beautiful world of loving interbeing… blessed be!

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 3 – Day 69 – 2/23/2016

Named Freely Flowing February 23 thanks be festisite-spiral (5)i know light is returning, i feel the energy of this powerful full moon of miracles; simultaneously, i’m still feeling dormant in the dark ground of being, needing a little fertilizer for sprouting roots… so the journey today is one of gratitude, a pilgrimage to the great mother and into her temple of the watery womb where in this temenos, this sanctuary of silence, this place of spacious emptiness, i bathe in her luxuriant love, receive her sustaining support, drink in her nurture and hear her canto hondo, her deep soul song re-joy-sing me… listen and sing along with me this beautiful song flowing from P’taah… and watch as our roots sprout riotously…
