Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 38 – 1/23/2020

Dear Siddhizens of the Cosmos,

the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists announced today the moving the Doomsday Clock closer to midnight than ever before, thanks to the mortal perils of climate crisis and nuclear weapons… created in the wake of World War II to measure the most dire threats to humanity, the clock is now at 100 seconds to midnight…

“Humanity continues to face two simultaneous existential dangers—nuclear war and climate change—that are compounded by a threat multiplier, cyber-enabled information warfare, that undercuts society’s ability to respond. The international security situation is dire, not just because these threats exist, but because world leaders have allowed international political infrastructure for managing them to erode.”

shaking us to our core, may this announcement jolt us into being aware and taking action… the world-renowned scientists plead for nuclear disarmament, multilateral diplomacy, and a full-on confrontation of the climate emergency…

we are the ones we are waiting for… it will take grassroots efforts, the work of existing campaigners and the re-enlistment of traditional allies, like religious institutions, as well as the engagement of the next generation of activists… as Bernard Lown noted in 1995, writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the only hope for change is an informed and insistent public compelling leadership to change the course we are on…

2020 marks 75 years since we entered the nuclear age with the Bomb…. as the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty comes up for review at the United Nations in April-May and the anniversaries of the Bomb are marked in July and August, the eyes and ears of the world will be drawn to the issue of nuclear weapons once again… what a window of opportunity for us to join with those who witnessed the Bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the hibakusha, survivors, whose voices are becoming fewer but not weaker as they demand the world pursue the only possible course guaranteeing “Never Again,” – the abolition of nuclear weapons…

yes, it is time on the clock of the world for us to re-member we belong to each other, we are one and we must be there for each other

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 256 – 8/29/2019

Named Awaken 29 PEACE-Pilgim

today, we get to belatedly celebrate an important day in herstory/history as it’s three days after the day in 1920 (that’s ninety nine years ago) of the certification of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granting American women the right to vote—a right known as woman suffrage…

it’s a perfect day to celebrate all women of peace, all people of peace making herstory/ourstory with being peace on this eve of the virgo new moon, the being one in herself, sovereign moon, a perfect moment to plant seeds of peace…

yes, today is a lovely moment to honor and celebrate the inspiration, the mother of this journey, someone being this peace pilgrimage every moment…

peace pilgrim, in her late forties, committed to walking the planet being peace and in so doing, she planted and spread peace across the world demonstrating that a life lived trusting in a world of lovingkindness reaps an abundant harvest… never once did she lack for a ride or a meal or a place to sleep finding abundant generosity always surrounding her every step, her every breath…

thank you for joining in the peace pilgrimage and making her story, our story, history…

thank you for the astonishing light of your being, a beacon shining so brightly and helping to guide all of us home…

may we place our hands on our heart sending love to our  relations…

when we find peace within ourselves, we are the kind of beings who live in peace with all our relations – may we all be peace…

om shanti shanti shantihi…

May I Be a Guard

May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and the sky
Until all beings are free from sorrow
And all are awakened.

Prayed every morning by His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet

the words quoted above inspire today’s  holding space for the benefit of all that is… and what a day it is, the 1999th day of writing this peace everyday no matter what, the space for being naked in the now – holy synchronicity! – five years ago on this day this was also literally true as i found myself in the middle of  thousands of Portalandia’s naked bike riders on their annual jaunt…

four years ago on this very day, another amazing adventure unfolded and still unfolds as i took off  for parts unknown with everything humming along until my chariot died on a busy thoroughfare foreshadowing quite an initiation to come…

interestingly, the re-birthed chariot, baby blue was feeling the anniversary and when i went out to start her today, she was once again dead as a door nail…

so, as baby blue comes back to life, i feel myself shedding the skin that no longer fits to don a new skin, a skin more expansive and deeper, a skin vibrating in every cell at the frequency of peace with nowhere to go as i’m now here, naked in the now, totally cool with what is…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 279 – 9/21/2018

Named Sacred 21 PEACE Flight

“Empty yourself of everything.  Let the mind rest at peace.  The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.  They grow and flourish and then return to the Source.  Returning to the Source is stillness, which is the way of Nature.  The way of Nature is unchanging.”  ~Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching

what an extraordinary/ordinary anniversary day marking the 45th moment of sun gazing on the 279th day of the poetic peace pilgrimage in the 9th moon on my mother’s 94th birthday which falls on the International Day of Peace – such a wealth of riches… the energy of 9 is reverberating and echoing and cascading today… harvesting, completion, letting go… a moment of saluting endings/beginnings, evolving into light, expanding into love… embodying 9’s energy as Hermit, Hermes with the lamp radiating wisdom for all to share, riding a peace wave of superabundance flowing in the blessingway of unconditional infinite love and gratitude… may we all rest peacefully in the lap of the divine mother warmed by the embrace of the central sun…

and, may this celebration of peace take flight around the world with every breath, in every moment, on every day… may we be peace now and now and now…

Chinook Blessing

We call upon the earth, our planet home, with its beautiful depths and soaring heights,

its vitality and abundance of life, and together we ask that it

Teach us, and show us the Way.

We call upon the mountains, Saddle mountain and Wahkiakum mountain, the Willapa Hills, the summits of intense silence, and we ask that they:

Teach us, and show us the Way.

We call upon the waters that rim the earth, the waters of

Our great river the I-a-gayte-imas, the waters of Willapa Bay,

And all of the waters the flowing [sic] our rivers and streams, the water that falls

Upon us, and we ask that they

Teach us, and show us the Way.

We call upon the land which grows our food, the nurturing

Soil that sustains our lives, we ask that they

Teach us, and show us the Way.

We call upon the forests, the great cedar trees reaching

Strongly to the sky  with earth in their roots and the heavens in their

Branches, cedar tree is the keeper of all

Knowledge, and we ask them to

Teach us, and show us the Way.

We call upon the creatures of the fields and forests and the

Seas, our brothers and sisters Lilu the Wolf, Emulak the elk,

And Mauich the Deer, Chak-cahk the Eagle, the great

Whales and the Sturgeon, and the Salmon people who share

Our Chinook waters

Teach us, and show us the Way.

We call upon all those who have lived on this earth, our

Ancestors and our friends, who dreamed the best for future

Generations, and upon whose lives our lives are built, and

With thanksgiving, we call upon them to

Teach us, and show us the Way.

And lastly, we call upon all that we hold most sacred, the

Presence and power of the Great Spirit

Which flows through all the Universe, to be with us to

Teach us, and show us the Way.

Delivered by Chinook Tribal Chief Gary Johnson in Chinook homelands, November 18, 2005.
