Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 8 – Day 335 – 11/16/2021

on this international day of tolerance, these prophetic words, written over six decades ago, give such hope today as we witness and listen to the last dying gasps of the old paradigm, the system of  extractive capitalism and power over patriarchy, while witnessing and participating in the emerging new world of beloved community, partnership society, a new/old paradigm of synarchy, of governing in concert, all of us coming together and standing in love for love…

may each shock to our collective and personal nervous systems, jumpstart our one heart into taking courage and right action in alignment with the will of the whole guided by our one true nature of peace where we each pick up a thread of the unraveling web to re-dreamweave a world of wonder, wisdom and welcome, a seamless tapestry of our one heart…

in this moment of eternity as we walk along the path of liberation, may we commit to the transforming spirit and love of peace, to making every breath a moment of peace built on justice and guided by love…

may we all live these words of the prayer of peace…

make us instruments of peace,
where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

 grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 226 – 7/30/2017

Named Jubilee July 30 Astonishing Light of Being MLK-Beloved Community

“I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being.”

~ Hafiz of Shariz ~

it’s an honor to celebrate you of the visionary spirit, you who share so generously the energy of beloved community, the spirit of the only true power, the medicine of unconditional love… you who gather together across the planet to welcome the stranger, to speak truth to false power, to stand for equality, liberation, justice and peace… you who light up all our relations with staying true and standing strong in wisdom and love… you who embody the wisdom of the sage, Howard Zinn…

To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something, If we remember those times and places — and there are so many — where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however a small way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.

 thank you for the astonishing light of your being…

Give light and people will find the way.
Ella Baker, Activist

welcome to this week’s installment of showing us the astonishing light of being… in these days, can we have too many reminders of all the lovingkindness occurring on the planet? far too often, the media inundates us with the old stories of fear and scarcity when, in truth, every moment there are more acts of compassion and the groundswell moves more and more in that direction…

#SanctuaryEverywhere is the simple idea of the American Friends Service Committee that everyday people can come together to keep each other safe that draws on the many traditions of peoples’ movements protecting targeted communities, like the Underground Railroad during slavery, Kindertransport during the Holocaust, the protection of conscientious objectors during the Vietnam War, the Sanctuary Movement in the 1980s and in more recent years, #NotOneMore, which has sheltered numerous undocumented immigrants from deportation…

thousand fold thanks for all the countless ways we are being beloved community…
