Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 202 – 7/6/2015

Named Joyful July 6 Dalai Lama Birthday

In his own words…

Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.

~

May we all breathe his Blessing of Peace deeply through our one heart.

~

His parting words leaving Portland:

“I’m always mentioning that mentally, emotionally and physically we are the same human being. So the potential which I have and that I use – you also have that same potential. You must realize that potential and utilize that potential as much as you can. Then you will be a happy person and live a meaningful life.”

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 199 – 7/3/2015

Named Joyous July 3 Japanese Garden New Year's 2015 001this prayer is in answer to Lao Tzu’s quest i’m on about cultivating patience, to stay still in the muddy waters, to rest deeply in the ebb tide, the germination cycle for the waters to clear, the sprouts to rise, the wings to unfold… may we all befriend the pregnant pause dreaming in the rhythm of the waves and re-membering it takes chaos to birth dancing stars…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 198 – 7/2/2015

Named Joyul July 2 Tahoma Equinox 2014 009+with every new moon as in month, i love begiining with John O’Donahue’s ” For A New Beginning”…  every inbreath is a new beginning and how beautifully to begin Joyful July with the Cosmic Turtle Full Moon, the Blessing Moon coupled with the union of Jupiter and Venus in a Star of Bethlehem unseen for over 2000 years…

on this day of new beginnings, i love re-membering how to awken to this new day…

WHAT TO REMEMBER WHEN WAKING

In that first
hardly noticed
moment
to which you wake,
coming back
to this life
from the other
more secret,
moveable
and frighteningly
honest
world
where everything
began,
there is a small
opening
into the new day
which closes
the moment
you begin
your plans.

What you can plan
is too small
for you to live.

What you can live
wholeheartedly
will make plans
enough
for the vitality
hidden in your sleep.

To be human
is to become visible
while carrying
what is hidden
as a gift to others.

To remember
the other world
in this world
is to live in your
true inheritance.

You are not
a troubled guest
on this earth,
you are not
an accident
amidst other accidents
you were invited
from another and greater
night
than the one
from which
you have just emerged.

Now, looking through
the slanting light
of the morning
window toward
the mountain
presence
of everything
that can be,
what urgency
calls you to your
one love?  What shape
waits in the seed
of you to grow
and spread
its branches
against a future sky?

Is it waiting
in the fertile sea?
In the trees
beyond the house?
In the life
you can imagine
for yourself?
In the open
and lovely
white page
on the waiting desk?

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 197 – 7/1/2015

Named Joyful July 1 Moon Full+purifying, purifying, purifying…. cleansing the space for the new to come in… walking outside to behold the night sky resplendent with star of bethlehem and full blessing moon pouring the abundance of infinite love and gratitude all over the universe inspiring the shamanic wizards of cleansing, frogs, to burst into song while wolves howl and all that is dances to the tune of the cosmic hum deeper and deeper in the silent chambers of our one heart…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 196 – 6/30/2015

Named Jubilant June 30 Heartworkon this day before the full moon of blessing when purification is called for, it is so called for with electronics going berserk and all i can do is inner work… dreaming hourly of a divine wedding, Jupiter and Venus’s union is known deeply in the heart…. in the midsts of so many towers falling – changes shaking the gound, rocking so many worlds, i connect to the inner blessing moon and the boundless love Jupiter and Venus proffer breathing it in and radiating it into the great beyond… yes to a day of stillness, of pregnant pause….

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 195 – 6/29/2015

Named Jubilant June 29 Light in Eyes

Instructions to Painters & Poets

I asked a hundred painte rs and a hundred poets
how to paint sunlight
on the face of life
Their answers were ambiguous and ingenuous
as if they were all guarding trade secrets
Whereas it seems to me
all you have to do
is conceive of the whole world
and all humanity
as a kind of art work
a site-specific art work
an art project of the god of light
the whole earth and all that’s in it
to be painted with light

And the first thing you have to do
is paint out postmodern painting
And the next thing is to paint yourself
in your true colors
in primary colors
as you see them
(without whitewash)
paint yourself as you see yourself
without make-up
without masks
Then paint your favorite people and animals
with your brush loaded with light
And be sure you get the perspective right
and don’t fake it
because one false line leads to another

***

And don’t forget to paint
all those who lived their lives
as bearers of light
Paint their eyes
and the eyes of every animal
and the eyes of beautiful women
known best for the perfection of their breasts
and the eyes of men and women
known only for the light of their minds
Paint the light of their eyes
the light of sunlit laughter
the song of eyes
the song of birds in flight

And remember that the light is within
if it is anywhere
and you must paint from the inside

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 2 – Day 194 – 6/28/2015

Named Jubilant June 28 Mt Rainier July B'day Pilgrimage 077+this picture, taken on Mt St Helen’s, represents grief and grief’s resolution… so much was lost here 35 years ago and  i love and am so grateful for all the beauty and joy at Harmony Point… may it be so for all grieving…

grief is an ocean ebbing and flowing,

at times overwhelming, other times still.

grief is a winding valley,

at times an arid desert, other times a blossoming field.

grief is a river bending and turning

suffering our illusion of life’s course remaining the same.

grief is re-membering

the beauty, joy, love and gratitude

of what was and celebrating that so it is forever.
