let us take this sacred moment to offer metta, lovingkindness, for all seeking refuge and sanctuary…
May I be filled with lovingkindness.
May I be well.
May I be peaceful and at ease.
Let me be happy all the days of my life.take a deep breath bringing it in knowing it to be true…
now, visualize a refugee — a specific person or a group of people allowing yourself to believe in these aspirations, as though they are gifts you are actually giving this person…
May this refugee be filled with unconditional kindness.
May they have good health.
May they have inner and outer safety all the days of their lives.
May they be peaceful and at ease.
Let them know happiness today and always.now visualize all beings and repeat these phrases:
May all beings be filled with lovingkindness.
May we all know good health all the days of our lives.
Let us know that inner and outer safety is our right.
May we all be peaceful and at ease.
May all being in all directions and all times be happy.when we inhale, know these qualities to be right and true and when we exhale, send unconditional sincerity to all beings…
may we bring these intentions into actions for the benefit of all beings…
Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 6 – Day 1 – 12/17/2018
today is a special day marking the day 755 years ago that poetic peace pilgrim, Rumi, died, 115 years ago that 1st flight took place on the outer banks, it is the first day of the 8th year of dwelling in the abundance of infinite love and gratitude it is the first day of the sixth year of the daily practice of writing this ppp peace and it is the day of a flight of liberation for us all…
in honor of this confluence of riches, let us begin with Rumi:
If you are seeking, seek us with joy
For we live in the kingdom of joy.
Do not give your heart to anything else
But to the love of those who are clear joy,
Do not stray into the neighborhood of despair.
For there are hopes: they are real, they exist –
Do not go in the direction of darkness –
I tell you: suns exist.what a day of cosmic flight dissolved into the radiant light of Green Tara who comes when we call to clear all obstacles and relieve the suffering of all our relatives, a night of flying into the darkness, into turbulence and still soaring into open spaciousness trusting in the implicate order listening for the call of the wild emanating from the womb of great silence…
How could the soul not take flight
When from the glorious Presence
A soft call flows sweet as honey,
And whispers, “Rise up now, come away.”
How could the fish not jump
Immediately from dry land into water,
When the sound of water from the ocean
Of fresh waves springs to his ear?
How could the hawk not fly away,
Back, back, to the wrist of the kind
As soon as he hears the drum
The king’s baton hits again and again,
Drumming out the signal of return?
How could the Sufi not start to dance,
Turning on himself, like the atom in the sun of eternity,
So he can leap free of this dying world?
Fly away, fly away, bird, to your native home.
You have leaped free of the cage,
Your wings are flung back in the wind of God.
Leave behind the stagnant and marshy waters,
Hurry, hurry, hurry, O bird, to the source of life! ~ Rumi~

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 364 – 12/15/2018
the more deeply i dwell in the eternal present moment continuously chanting make me an instrument of peace and the more wholeheartedly i surrender to love, the more i am taken to places i could not imagine… today, as i look back over 364 days of tripping to unplanned places, i’m in awe of the beauty of unfolding mystery…
The Journey
One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice–
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
“Mend my life!”
each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do–
determined to save
the only life you could save.~ Mary Oliver ~
Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 363 – 12/14/2018
holy synchronisiddhi! on this third day of nine days of the gateway of light, it is the feast day of st john of the cross, patron saint of contemplatives, mystics and poets… centuries ahead of the modern discovery of the unconscious, st john spoke of darkness, inner journeys, and the shadow self… his genius, his gift for the good of the whole was in living and speaking about the imperative, if we are to transform, of embracing the dark night of the soul and holding steadfast trusting in the benevolent great mystery to lovingly bring forth the light…
“The endurance of darkness is the preparation for great light.”
Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 362 – 12/13/2018
on this second day of the gateway of light, i am greeted with the news that the united states senate overwhelmingly voted to officially pass the Yemen War Powers Resolution, introduced by Senators Bernie Sanders, Mike Lee, and Chris Murphy...
the senate has chosen to listen to the pleas of the people and to move toward ending U.S. complicity in the Saudi-led attacks in Yemen, where the humanitarian crisis is growing worse by the day and an estimated 85,000 children have already died… with this momentum from a strong bipartisan senate vote, we have a real chance to finally end U.S. involvement in this war…
thousandfold thanks peace wagers…
Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 361 – 12/12/2018
on awakening today, i feel so much light and feel so lightened… of course, for today is the 12/12 gateway, a powerful portal of light, the day dedicated worldwide to the Celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother Mary who is presenting all our relations with an opportunity to receive a powerful gift of light to prepare each of us at a cellular level to receive the most intensified frequencies of light the earth has ever known…
To honor this blessing on this sacred feast day of the patron saint of all that is unborn, join me in the Rite of the Womb as we gather around a vessel of water filled with flower petals or greens of the earth proclaiming our intention…
the womb is not a place to store fear and pain, the womb is to create and give birth to life… the womb is not a place to store fear and pain, the womb is to create and give birth to life… the womb is not a place to store fear and pain, the womb is to create and give birth to life…
as we light the 13 candles representing the 13 moons of the turn of the sun, we sing the ancient chant…. we all come from the mother and to her we shall return like a drop of rain flowing to the ocean…
raising our arms, we summon the spirits saying: the womb is not a place to store fear and pain, the womb is to create and give birth to life…
placing our hands on the womb space in the center of our bellies, our being, we activate this rite saying: the womb is not a place to store fear and pain, the womb is to create and give birth to life…
blessed be this gift of healing light bringing all that is into greater and greater wholeness and everlasting life…
may we all greet this day of joyous light openheartedly…
Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 360 – 12/11/2018
“It has been my observation that the happiest of people, the vibrant doers of the world, are almost always those who are using — who are putting into play, calling upon, depending upon the greatest number of their God-given talents and capabilities.”
~John Glenn~
All the Hemisphers — Hafiz
Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch outLike a welcomed season
Onto the meadows and shores and hills.Open up to the Roof.
Make a new water-mark on your excitement
And love.Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
And giving
Upon our intimate assembly.Change rooms in your mind for a day.
All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home. All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
ChattingWhile stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 359 – 12/10/2018
seventy years ago today, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Eleanor Roosevelt—the principle architect of the declaration—understood and personified the power of wise leadership… she knew that the most effective way to lead is by example—by living our values… when we live up to its ideals, more people can live in freedom, with dignity and agency, and share their gifts with the world… we know that respect for human rights is the foundation of peace, justice, and security…
may the the Universal Declaration of Human Rights continue to be a global beacon – shining a light for dignity, equality & well-being for all…
Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 5 – Day 358 – 12/9/2018
as the 24 hour bearing witness vigil comes to a close at the crack of dawn this morning, while physically feeling somewhat weary i’m inspired by the upcoming week of taking action as Love Knows No Borders is about to commence reminding me how important it is for all of us to welcome the stranger and offer them warmth… when we start with re-membering the stranger within and befriending our inner refugee who desires what we all desire, a sanctuary to call home, when we open ourselves to the unknown inside of ourselves, we naturally radiate outward this openheartedness to all our relations…. may we all welcome the stranger and offer them warmth…
our earth mother’s heartbeat echoes through all our relations… feel the momentum building as more and more of us hear her call to rise up and stand together as one large orchestra playing a seamless symphony and re-joy-sing in the harmony we embody as a beautiful wave now encircling the cosmos – peace prevails on earth, love is all there is… peace prevails on earth, love is all there is… peace prevails on earth, love is all there is… peace prevails on earth, love is all there is…
may we all welcome the stranger and offer them warmth speaking the words above as one unified voice, as one bridge of reconciliation encircling the cosmos…
join with me now in breathing deeply in to the womb of being while placing a hand on your heart and with each deep breath, feel your heart, our one heart, opening a little wider to welcome the stranger and offer warmth beginning with yourself and slowly moving out in ever widening circles of inclusion re-membering we all belong to each other, each of our individual destinies is tied with our one collective destiny… to journey to the core of our being, to our heart of gold to be our original face of radiant love, dancing with rainbow mystery…
