Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 186 – 6/20/2023

“Refugees are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children, with the same hopes and ambitions as us—except that a twist of fate has bound their lives to a global refugee crisis on an unprecedented scale.”
~ Khaled Hosseini ~

Today is the 23rd annual World Refugee Day. The United Nations Refugee Agency sponsors this day recognizing and raising awareness about the world’s obligation to welcome and shelter refugees—those forced to flee violence or disaster in their home land.

On 4 December 2000, the United Nations General Assembly in Resolution 55/76 decided that, from 2001, 20 June would be celebrated as World Refugee Day. In this resolution, the General Assembly noted that 2001 marked the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees.

World Refugee Day reminds us that all human beings are valuable, we all deserve protections, and we are all personally obligated to care for one another.

Now More Than Ever, We Need to Stand with Refugees, shockingly, in excess of 258,000,000 people of the human variety are displaced which is one in 30 human beings…

Whoever they are, people forced to flee should be treated with dignity. Anyone can seek protection, regardless of who they are or what they believe. It is non-negotiable: seeking safety is a human right.

Wherever they come from, people forced to flee should be welcomed. Refugees come from all over the globe. To get out of harm’s way, they might take a plane, a boat, or travel on foot. What remains universal is the right to seek safety.

Whenever people are forced to flee, they have a right to be protected. Whatever the threat – war, violence, persecution, disaster – everyone deserves protection. Everyone has a right to be safe.

“Migrants and refugees are not pawns on the chessboard of humanity. They are children, women and men who leave or who are forced to leave their homes for various reasons, who share a legitimate desire for knowing and having, but above all for being more.” ~Pope Francis~

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 185 – 6/19/2023

today marks the second anniversary since President Joe Biden named Juneteenth a federal holiday in 2021… as more Americans celebrate Juneteenth with family and community, it is vital to share the important historical legacy behind Juneteenth and recognize the long struggle to make it an officially recognized holiday… it is an opportunity to honor our country’s second Independence Day and reflect on our shared history and future… the origins of Juneteenth date to June 1865; even though the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863 and the Confederate army surrendered to the Union army in April 1865, enslaved people in Texas—the westernmost Confederate state—could not exercise their freedom until June 19, 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger led some 2,000 Union troops, many of whom were Black, into Galveston Bay, where they announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free by executive decree... decades of collective action would follow as equality and justice for African-Americans advanced slowly, frustratingly, gradually, on our nation’s journey toward a more perfect union. on this Juneteenth, we re-member that struggle as we reflect on how far we’ve come as a country and how far we still have to go… the slaves of Galveston knew their freedom was only a first step, just as the bloodied foot soldiers who crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge 100 years later knew they had to keep marching and demanding…

formerly enslaved people immediately sought to reunify families, establish schools, run for political office, and even sue slaveholders for compensation… despite more than 200 years of enslavement, they demonstrated extraordinary courage and resilience as they transformed both their lives and their country… celebrated in family and church-centered gatherings, over time the holiday evolved to include annual pilgrimages to Galveston Bay by formerly enslaved individuals and their families…

over the decades, many advocated the establishment of Juneteenth as a national holiday… the Grandmother of Juneteenth, Opal Lee, was a driving force in this movement – in 2016, at the age of 89, she began a walk from her home in Fort Worth to Washington, D.C., to bring awareness to this important cause… trekking two and a half miles each morning and afternoon, a representation of the two and a half years Black Texans remained enslaved after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, Lee soon had countless others who joined Lee on her march… the 1,400-mile walk concluded with a press conference that put Juneteenth on the nation’s radar…

this day stands as a testament to and celebration of the unyielding spirit of a people; it is a day for introspection, a platform for education, and a tribute to the monumental contributions of African Americans to the history of this nation… Juneteenth is a poignant reminder that oppressive systems can still be upheld, even after they’re formally dismantled… slavery ended on paper years before it ended in practice — and even then, anti-Blackness, white supremacy, and structural racism simply took on new forms, further entrenching themselves within our culture and systems…

Juneteenth is a time to recommit ourselves to the work that remains undone… we re-member that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope for tomorrow’s light… today, no matter our race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, we recommit ourselves to working to free modern-day slaves around the world and to honoring in our own time the efforts of those who wage liberation so diligently to steer our country truer to our highest ideals…

here we stand in this moment as we witness and participate in the rising tide demanding that America be the land of the free, demanding that justice for all be the law of the land, demanding that we start funding life re-membering we belong to each other rather than living under the delusion that we are separate leading to funding death and destruction and domination…

i woke up this morning with this old spiritual singing me… “woke up this morning with my mind on freedom”… may we all wake up with our mind on freedom for all, speaking truth to power and raising hell until we walk the talk of life, liberty and justice for all relatives…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 184 – 6/18/2023

welcome to this sacred moment of eternity when we celebrate the astonishing light of being and when the winds are perfect for contemplating the supreme meditation on death and re-birth in the radiation of the new moon and in the soulstice portal when the veils thin and we are invited and magnetically drawn to standing still with the sun, coming to the edge of the unknown and emptying, releasing into our earth mother all that no longer serves, shedding the old skin to welcome the new, slowing down to deepen into the earth and stretch into the sky thanking all ancestors and allies from the imaginal realms for the infinite love they so generously bestow when we open and listen and commune re-membering we live in a garden of original blessing with death on our left shoulder, our constant companion inspiring us to meet each moment fully, to meet it as a friend…

what a blessing to rest here with you today as we walk each other home, sitting in the dynamic stillness of silence, the powerful place beyond words where we feel the interconnection, beloved communion of the one syncing into the interbeing of beginningless time as frequencies reverberating vibrations of love, joy, compassion and harmony through the instrument of peace we be…

i invite you now to join hands psychically and feel the love passing from one to another to another so that we deepen into our true nature in the unitive field out beyond, the field of trutopia where we dance together in harmony real-eye-sing we, all living beings, belong to each other, we are one body…

bringing your awareness into this field of trutopia, breathe in deeply 3 times trusting in whatever the moment brings as each moment is an opportunity to be held by beloved… feel into how it is to live in a world where all life thrives, where we all join together to co-create flourishing, to living in flow, to dreaming in the rhythm of waves and witnessing the dreaming unfolding… feel your hands moving to your heart as each wild cell in your body becomes one with our true nature as luminescent threads in the wondrous web of life… aho…

thank you for meeting me in this moment, in every moment fully and tenderly…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 183 – 6/17/2023

on this day ninety-five years ago, another first in flight took place when Amelia Earhart embarked on the first trans-Atlantic flight by a woman… flying from Newfoundland to Wales in about 21 hours, she captured and transformed our imagination forever… her legendary feats are the very emblem of courage — and of a woman who refused to let fears and adversity ground her dreams…  as we approach what some are calling the most potent day in this turn around the sun, soulstice and on this day of the new moon, let’s take this moment to be inspired by her words to let our hearts soar just as this moment of eternity is calling us to deepen into mystery…

~

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.

Everyone has oceans to fly, if they have the heart to do it. Is it reckless? Maybe. But what do dreams know of boundaries?

No borders, just horizons – only freedom.

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace.”

~

yes, let us take courage, heart, great heart in this moment when the winds of change are collectively uplifting the cosmos into a shift for the ages emboldening all relatives to embrace the peace train conducting us into the freedom afforded by meeting and living in the present moment fully and tenderly as a friend…

let’s close this sacred space of ceremony with the blessing we offer into the sacred fire within, the inner light of great spirit residing in all our relatives: may this day be blessed with gifts, lessons, understanding and friends… may our energy be a gift to all we meet… let us be centered, healing and open facing the day with courage, kindness, insight and compassion… may we honor this day…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 182 – 6/16/2023

“Empty yourself of everything.  Let the mind rest at peace.  The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.  They grow and flourish and then return to the Source.  Returning to the Source is stillness, which is the way of Nature.”  ~Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching

~

today is the eve of the gemini new moon in my time zone and the third day of the soulstice portal which are wonderfilled days for emptying everything and resting in the sacred space of the beyond, the galactic center, the cosmic womb, primordial space of birthing stars… feeling the pull of  the moon of truth bestowing the gift of integrating duality with the muse inspiring creativity and new ideas for us to create the masterpeace that is our life which will be amplified a thousand fold by this soulstice, this standing still with the sun as we live and dream the quest ions of what are we now ready to co-create with spirit, to birth personally and collectively and what seeds of intention, of prayer, of vision are we planting?

dreaming in the rhythm of the waves of mystery before us, behind us, beside us, below us, above us, within us, always enfolding us always unfolding us…

Peace to all beings
Whether near or far
Known or unknown
Real or imaginary
Visible or invisible
Born or yet to be born.
May all beings
Be well and happy
And free from fear.
Peace to all beings
Within and beyond the imagination
In the world of ideas
In the world of memories
And in the world of dreams.
May all beings
Be well and happy
And free from fear.
Peace in all elements
Of earth, air, fire and water
Fulfilled in space
Peace.
Peace in all universes
From the smallest cells in our bodies
To the greatest galaxies in space
Peace
And light rising
Peace to all beings
Within each being here
To those beings that have been in the past
And to those beings that are yet to be in the future
May all beings
Within each being here
Be well and happy
And free from fear.

take all i say,
and toss away
all that does not
resonate…
for we do not learn
wisdom and love…
we re-member what’s within…

deepest bows…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 181 – 6/15/2023

well come to this moment of eternity, another moment to acknowledge the astonishing light of our being, a light shining so brightly in the core of our being, a light that has been shining since the beginning of beginningless time, a light calling us to listen, listen, listen to the soulsong singing our one body to come home to the heart, to the present moment, the only moment… the moment of eternity already in the radiation of the new moon where a fresh and more expanded picture of reality emerges with revelations to weave and dots to connect on the the spirit path, the beautyway we all are walking each other home…

so many shoulders, roots, mycelial networks supporting us, such a boundless circle, a communion, a common union, our one body perfectly created for these times… what follows is one of the thousand thousand fold expressions of this living truth, the cosmic wisdom of the astonishing light of our interbeing that i have shared before and this moment of initiation, of separation, ordeal and return, calls out for this healing balm…

We Are the Ones We’ve Been Waiting For

“You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered…

Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?

Know your garden.
It is time to speak your truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for your leader.

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.

And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word ’struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

~ Hopi Elders’ Prophecy, June 8, 2000 ~

~

let us rise and descend simultaneously into the call for life, liberty and justice for all in our every thought, word and deed with every breath and step… and so it is… blessed being the astonishing light we are…

may this day be blessed with gifts, lessons, understanding and friends… may our energy be a gift to all we meet… let us be centered, healing and open facing the day with courage, kindness, insight and compassion… may we honor this day…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 180 – 6/14/2023

“there are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors…”

~Jim Morrison~

~

living in a land of portals, of doorways between the known and unknown, i often travel a path such as today’s when life’s heartsong pulls me through a gateway into unitive consciousness… one of those journeys deeper into the heart cave, a journey of emerge and see, where you watch the tides and wait until they are going out so as not to be flooded and in the waiting trust is building… in the journey, in life, in flow…

children of the waters flow home to deep blue sea

where we dance with dolphins throughout infinite eternity

and we undulate with seahorses in the waves of light frequency

creating ever widening arcs of iridescent harmony…

~

a magical day in the metaphorical sea, in the timelessness of eternity stretching across the cosmos infinitely… contemplating, contemplating, real-eye-sing… circulating, circulating, ambulating… children of the waters flowing home to deep blue sea… return, return to be beloved’s breath and weave her threads into seamless blessing tapestry…

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”

~ Buddha ~

~

in this moment of eternity,

greet your true self with elation

as you arrive at the threshold, the doorway of waters falling home…

smile and breathe in this wondrous stranger…

embrace and reverence your true self opening your heart as wide as possible to the whole youniverse…

sit, feast, luxuriate, dance the radiance

diving ever deeper into the ocean of love…

this contemplation is a gift of love to source in appreciation for the gift of life… may this gift bless all our relations and expand and return a thousand thousand fold blessings…

let’s close this sacred space of ceremony with blessing the sacred fire within, the inner light of great spirit residing in all our relatives: may this day be blessed with gifts, lessons, understanding and friends… may our energy be a gift to all we meet… let us be centered, healing and open facing the day with courage, kindness, insight and compassion… may we honor this day…

“Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding,
the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated
as birdwings.”

~ Rumi ~

~

on this day of beginning the 100 day countdown to the International Day of Peace on 9/21, i share this image representing the image that i am immersed in, that of the prophecy of the condor and eagle foretelling we will return to a time of peace and harmony when these great birds of spirit fly together in balance rather than oppression and so here they are flying as one painting peace across the vast skysea…

every year since 1981, on the 21st of September, the United Nations calls on all nations and people to put down their weapons and reaffirm their commitment to living in harmony with one another… this year’s theme of “Actions For Peace” inspires embodying that we are not each other’s enemies, that we belong to each other and must work together as what happens in one part of the planet impacts all our relatives…

let us celebrate “Actions For Peace” by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the pandemics of militarism, materialism, racism, environmental disruption and health and standing together in unity for the benefit of all beginning in this moment with this breath… yes, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me and thee… let us create a cosmos where PEACE is built with justice and guided by love…

in this astonishing light of our interbeing moment of eternity on this day of poetic peace pilgrimage breathing in surrender and breathing out release:

may we travel lightly with

more and more love

and more and more surrender

more and more love

and more and more surrender

more and more love

and more and more surrender

into the vast spaciousness of love

into the eternal chorus of the celestial realms with angelic beings re-joy-sing to earth beings below,

into the silent whispers of the stone peoples,

into the coyotes howling to the waning moon,

into the twinkling eyes of children,

into your beloved’s hand holding yours promising never to forsake you,

into the smile of a stranger who is now a friend,

into the good, the true the beautiful, all that we can witness all over the planet in every moment through the eyes of love,

into the sweet nectar of love…

may we celebrate the cosmic dream of peace coming alive this moment in our collective metamorphosis uprising from sea of love energy to shining sea of love energy…

may this day be blessed with gifts, lessons, understanding and friends… may our energy be a gift to all we meet… let us be centered, healing and open facing the day with courage, kindness, insight and compassion… may we honor this day…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 10 – Day 177 – 6/11/2023

in this moment of eternity vibrating at the auspicious energy of light as we draw down the energy of great mystery under the moon of trailblazing, of listening to the soul song, of leaping in faith as an imaginal cell, the fledgling in this image transports me today to an old story from africa…

~

when a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herself, listening until she hears the soul song of the child that wants to come…

and when the mother is pregnant, she teaches that child’s soul song to the women of the village, so that when the child is born, they will welcome her with that song…

when the child goes through the rites of puberty, the we’moon come together to sing that soul song…

and when the child falls, or hurts its knee, they will pick him up and remind him of the soul song…

when the child crowns a noble achievement, they will celebrate with that soul song…

and if ever along the way the child gets swept up in the world and loses her way, the villagers will come together and remind her of her soul song…

finally, when the child passes away, they will honor his life by singing the soul song…

~

“…It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change’s gonna come, oh, yes, it will…”
  ~ Sam Cook ~

as we pause on the precipice of a new journey into the unknown, may  we sing courageously celebrating rebirth, renewal and resurrection…

thank you, thank you, thank you for singing the soul song for all children of the earth…
