Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 241 – 8/13/2020

A MIND THAT HAS NO WALLS, THAT IS NOT BURDENED WITH ITS OWN ACQUISITIONS, ACCUMULATIONS, WITH ITS OWN KNOWLEDGE, A MIND THAT LIVES TIMELESSLY, INSECURELY – TO SUCH A MIND, LIFE IS AN EXTRAORDINARY THING. SUCH A MIND IS LIFE ITSELF, BECAUSE LIFE HAS NO RESTING PLACE.
– JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI –

~

today is a day of contemplating and more sacredly, reverencing, the hatching, the breaking open of shells that constrict and moving into expanding into a more spacious home, an open heart… as with any birth, growth, transition, transformation, there is pain involved which underlines the importance of our nestling together and embracing each other’s journey in the chrysalis and through the birth canal into the river of awakening that flows into the ocean of love…

yes, these moments which seem so deathly to our protective selves are precisely the perfect ones to embrace what is, to befriend whatever comes our way with a loving mantra of thank yous… Rumi says it so beautifully…

“This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 240 – 8/12/2020

this day seems to frequently hold a powerful apocalyptic, revealing vibration – six years ago, it was to awaken and hear of robin’s death (robin williams) that everyperson who so generously shared his humanity/divinity and opened our heats to where we didn’t know our heart was closed; three years ago i’m home for a family wedding and awaken to helicopters flying above learning later they were searching for the murderer of Heather, the young woman mowed down as charlottesville exploded, the young woman who stood for justice, equality, fairness and compassion and every august 12th is world elephant day, elephants play a unique role in natural ecosystems by spreading tree seeds far and wide, contributing to the diversity and well-being of forests with scientists estimating that if forest elephants disappear, the african rainforest will lose 7 percent of its carbon storage ability — stripping our planet of a critical tool as we work to stop climate destruction…

so, this moment and every moment is perfect for calling in the ancient wisdom from elephant spirit and sourcing the divine… simply breathe in earth mother’s love and feel it circulating and humming through every wild cell to the frequency of thanks be thanks be thanks…

radiate the love out to father sky and to all our relations in need of connection, in need of protection, in need of true refuge, belonging space…

re-member these gentle giants today, every day, every moment, this moment, and for all our relations in peril, take a stand for love by saying yes to safeguarding the endangered, the frail, the young… all for one…

listening, listening in a evr deeper way to the council of luminous beings always hear/here for us and encouraging our embarking on the journey into inner space of opening the heart ever wider to love deeply, forgive sincerely and dare greatly…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 239 – 8/11/2020

we’re walking the bhakti path today,

floating through life in a buoyant way…

with nothing to do and nowhere (now here) to go,

resting still in the ocean, the ocean of flow…

chanting love’s names polishes our one heart,

resonating at the frequency of love you impart

deepening the illuminated heart vibration of cosmic harmony

attuning us all to the vast expansive spaciousness of great mystery…

~

today spirit invites dancing life in a sacred way knowing that love, service and re-membrance bring great value to the sacred hoop of life, the unbroken circle of interconnection…

three years ago, i stood at an altar of love having flown home for a family wedding uniting the opposites with joy and celebration while across town, Charlottesville was exploding… it was good then to be standing in a unitive field of love balancing the hatred happening blocks away and it’s good to stand with you in love today and everyday with each of us invoking the beloved in our own authentic way… perhaps, you’ll join me in placing your hand on your heart and calling up the image of a relation you love… or, maybe, spend time in the company of a tree or play in water and squeal with glee or plant seeds of compassion and joy drawing down the  courage of the leo lionhearts… whatever it is, float in devocean, the ocean of devotion with your  wide open heart re-joy-sing in the dream of the cosm – peace in every moment…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 238 – 8/10/2020

in this moment, this beautiful moment, the sounding and resounding of the bell invites our closing your outer eyes and tune into the universe of the illuminated heart within… breathe deeply into the belly the radiant light of the inner sun into every one of the trillions of wild cells we are and take another deep breath and begin to align with the peace of the darkness of inner space… as you float in this spaciousness of the skysea of being, re-member what you love… now, lie down in this field of beauty with all your senses tuned into the cosmic hum of the stillpoint and enjoy the dream images organically arising and dancing through your being…

take comfort in this gentle space with nowhere you must go for you are now here in your space of true refuge, a magical place so easily accessible by simply breathing in the rhythm of light waves and turning your senses within, coming home to our one heart… luxuriate in being taken back to factory settings to awaken into this cosmos of original blissing (blessing + bliss = blissing) where there’s no where (now here) to go and no thing to do, purely bearing witness to the present moment while acting locally, feeling globally and thinking cosmically…

in this moment, this beautiful moment, listen for beloved’s sweet refrain to come back, come back, return to me dwelling this moment in harmony…

going with the flow… opening to the unfolding… being still mountain reflecting in the mirror lake… attending, intending more and more light and more and more love and more and more trust and more and more surrender…

may we all conspire, breathe together resonating in joy to birth a planet of peace and harmony that works for all, a cosmos built on justice and guided by compassion and mercy…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 237 – 8/9/2020

seventy-five years ago today, at the end of World War II, an atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki in Japan with the hypocenter right on the grounds of what is now the Peace Memorial Park where this sculpture rests…

listen to an excerpt from Words of the Sculptor about the Peace Statue he created to commemorate all who lost their lives to atomic radiation:

“After experiencing that nightmarish war, that blood-curdling carnage, that unendurable horror, Who could walk away without praying for peace? This statue was created as a signpost in the struggle for global harmony. Standing ten meters tall, it conveys the profundity of knowledge and the beauty of health and virility. The right hand points to the atomic bomb, the left hand points to peace, and the face prays deeply for the victims of war. Transcending the barriers of race and evoking the qualities of Buddha and God, it is a symbol of the greatest determination ever known in the history of Nagasaki and the highest hope of all mankind.”

-Seibo Kitamura (Spring 1995)

~

may we all sing out for love, peace and harmony for all our relations in our ever expanding and deepening uni/multiverse thanking great mystery for blessing us with every breath and pouring divine light of love generously across the cosm…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 236 – 8/8/2020

are you feeling the energy of your inner lioness, the divine feminine, roaring gently into all your wild cells and quickening the rhythmic flow of love and compassion?

yes, today the doors of love and compassion are flung wide open for all to breeze through with our courageous lionhearts into this brave new world of lovingkindness and compassion…

let’s all take this moment, this beautiful moment. to bask in the radiant light streaming through us to see all that is as it truly is… a beautyway of love and light…

how i love this portal, this gateway into more expansive and deeper realms of consciousness where potent messages from the invisible realms are flowing freely… involving three key players, the sun and earth and the star sirius, this portal is set in motion in july when the sun and sirius known as the spiritual sun seem to merge together and are seen as one with our sun swallowed by sirius to die and be reborn with the frequencies of sirius during the first week of august when the sun is in the constellation of leo giving us the name lions gate… the energies are potent throughout the week and especially dramatic on the 8th when the sun and earth are directly opposed and our reborn sun laser beams the energies of the spiritual sun into pachamama raising the earth’s frequency, raising our frequency to love and above… in this year of 2020 the energies of empathy, compassion and understanding, so needed on the planet, are flooding the cosmos…

may we experience this magical day as a sacred gift woven around our one heart of wonder…

Hibakusha Appeal:

Hibakusha Earnestly Desire Elimination of Nuclear Weapons

At present, humanity stands at the crossroads of whether to save our blue planet with all living things on it as it is or to go along the road of self-destruction.

The two atomic bombs dropped on August 6th and 9th 1945 by the US forces totally destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in an instant, and killed and wounded hundreds of thousands of people without discrimination. With corpses charred black, bodies with their skins peeled off and with lines of people tottering in silence, a hell on earth emerged. Those who narrowly survived soon collapsed one after another. For more than 70 years since then we have struggled to live on, afflicted by the delayed effects and by anxiety about the possible effects of radiation on our children and grandchildren. Never again do we want such tragedies to be repeated.

After 11 years of silence following the A-bomb suffering, Hibakusha assembled in Nagasaki in August 1956 and founded Nihon Hidankyo, the Japan Confederation of A-and H-bomb Sufferers Organizations. There we pledged that we would work to “save humanity from its crisis through the lessons learned from our experiences, while at the same time saving ourselves”. Since then we have continued appealing to the world that “there should never be another Hibakusha.” This is the cry of our soul.

Wars and conflicts are still going on in the world, and many lives of innocent people are lost. Nuclear weapons are being used to threaten others. There are also moves to develop new nuclear weapons. The destructive power of existing nuclear weapons, which number well over 10 thousand, amounts to that of tens of thousands of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs combined. Nuclear weapons are the “weapons of the devil”. They could wipe out the human race and all other creatures. They could destroy the environment and turn the globe into a dead planet.

Human beings have prohibited the use, development, production and possession of biological and chemical weapons by treaties and protocols. Why do we hesitate to prohibit nuclear weapons, which are far more destructive than these weapons? We, the Hibakusha, call on all State Governments to conclude a treaty to ban and eliminate nuclear weapons.

The average age of the Hibakusha now exceeds 80. It is our strong desire to achieve a nuclear weapon-free world in our lifetime, so that succeeding generations of people will not see hell on earth ever again. You, your families and relatives, or any other people should not be made Hibakusha again…

April 2016

i have spent this week deeply listening to the voices of the hibakusha and their co-hearts with their vow of ending nuclear weapons and establishing a culture of peace, a vow i have committed to for for half a century…

to further this vow, may we all join in the call  to prevent nuclear war by:

  • renouncing the option of using nuclear weapons first;
  • ending the sole, unchecked authority of any president to launch a nuclear attack;
  • taking U.S. nuclear weapons off hair-trigger alert;
  • cancelling the plan to replace its entire arsenal with enhanced weapons; and
  • actively pursuing a verifiable agreement among nuclear-armed states to eliminate their nuclear arsenals.

peace be with us all…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 234 – 8/6/2020

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction. The splitting of the atom has changed everything except the way we think. Thus we drift toward unparalleled catastrophe. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive.” ~ Albert Einstein ~

“One can’t believe impossible things.” said Alice
“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen.
“When I was your age, I always did it for a half an hour a day.
Why, sometime, I believed as many as six
impossible things before breakfast.” ~ Lewis Carroll ~

Seventy-five years ago today, the beautiful child, Sadako, was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on her city of Hiroshima during the second world war… Nine years later, she developed the atomic bomb disease, leukemia… Hearing the ancient Japanese story that says when you fold 1000 paper cranes your wish will be granted, Sadako was able to fold 644 cranes with her wish for healing before she died at twelve years old from atomic radiation…

Inspired by her courage and strength, her friends and classmates dreamed of creating a monument to memorialize their friend and all children killed by the bomb. Young people all over the land of the rising sun realized their dream a couple of years later when in 1958 a statue of Sadako holding a golden crane was unveiled in the Hiroshima Peace Park. The children also made a wish. It is inscribed at the bottom of the statue and reads:

“This is our cry, This is our prayer, Peace in the world”.

Today, people all over the world continue to commemorate Sadako Peace Day by folding paper cranes and sending them to Sadako’s monument in Hiroshima.

May we all take up their cry and prayer of peace in the world… May there be peace on earth and may it begin with me and thee…

Om, shanti shanti shantihi and as we chant peace invite the bell to ring sevent-five times vibrating peace across the cosmos…

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 233 – 8/5/2020

I was dead, then alive.
Weeping, then laughing.
The power of love came into me,
and I became fierce like a lion,
then tender like the evening star.

~ Rumi ~

The Atomic Bomb Dome pictured here was the only structure left standing in the area 75 years ago when the first ever atomic bomb was detonated on Hiroshima, Japan Its marker reads: “As a historical witness that conveys the tragedy of suffering the first atomic bomb in human history and as a symbol that vows to faithfully seek the abolition of nuclear weapons and everlasting world peace.”

the children of the earth have gathered on this day for 27 years in front of the Atomic Dome in the Hiroshima Memorial Park at exactly the time 75 years earlier that an explosion of atoms shattered the world… today, as millions come together across the world, we unite for an explosion of a vastly different sort… an explosion of love and peace, a chorus of voices with every country in the world represented in one unified prayer for peace… may peace prevail on earth…

yes, the one heart of all our relations choir is now unstoppable… yes, peace prevails on earth…

thousandfold thanks for standing together in love and peace for love and peace…

and, may we all join with Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui in calling for the total elimination of the world’s nuclear weapons…

heiwa, heiwa, heiwa…

typhoon francisco came roaring through Japan last year and still we stood in peace for peace… on this the 28th year of re-membering although the pandemic stops us from gathering in front of the dome, the gathering has gone viral and virtual… thank you for joining in and being a pulse that lights up the world with prayers for harmony, conscious evolution and for peace to prevail on Earth… let us close once again with the Nuclear Prayer…

The Beginning and the End are in your hands, O Creator of the Universe. And in our hands you have placed the fate of this planet. We, who are tested by having both creative and destructive power in our free will, turn to you in sober fear and in intoxicating hope. We ask for your guidance and to share in your imagination in our deliberations about the use of nuclear force. Help us to lift the fog of atomic darkness that hovers so pervasively over our Earth, Your Earth, so that soon all eyes may see life magnified by your pure light. Bless all of us who wait today for your Presence and who dedicate ourselves to achieve your intended peace and rightful equilibrium on Earth. In the Name of all that is holy and all that is hoped. Amen.”

hear our prayer and cry: Peace Prevails on Earth!

Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 232 – 8/4/2020

ah, today is the last day of this turn around the sun when, according to the I Ching,  brother sun shines on the hexagram of re-treat and what a moment as we begin the re-memberings of the 75th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki… this picture of Sadako and her thousand cranes is one of my favorites, i resonate so with this child’s wish for peace on earth… after a morning in the healing temple, i’m making the most of today as a day of pause, a day of gap, of dwelling in the unknown, a day of mystery reflecting, a day of packing away belongings, inventorying life, emptying self, detaching from the noisy world, letting go, letting go, letting go, bowing to the deep, joining the council of elders round the fire of purification in sweet surrender melting into oneness…

fires of purification brings me to dreams of fire – is it fires of purification or annihilation or are they one and the same – have been dancing across the consciousness field, dreaming me for days, long before the blistering heat wave and raging wildfires that permeate our days here in the pacific northwest… through burning eyes and sweltering, sedating body heat, i feel the annihilation of all that’s inessential, the burning away of the chaff, the releasing of the rust, the polishing and burnishing the mirror until it reflects pure love, the only thing that’s real, that’s eternal, that’s ever expanding in widening waves of light moving us in deepening spirals into the center of being simply ourselves…

thank you for joining with me in being a pulse that lights up the world with prayers for harmony, conscious evolution and for peace to prevail on Earth…

The Nuclear Prayer

The Beginning and the End are in your hands, O Creator of the Universe. And in our hands you have placed the fate of this planet. We, who are tested by having both creative and destructive power in our free will, turn to you in sober fear and in intoxicating hope.   may peace prevail on earth, may every thread of the web of life be peace now and may all relatives dance in devocean to love…
