Poetic Peace Pilgrimage – Year 7 – Day 115 – 4/9/2020

all over the planet today, we gather virtually to celebrate liberation, sung to the tune of let my people go as we feast on maunday thursday and passover and fast for ramadan and in a multitude of other ways… let us begin this celebration by lighting a candle honoring all our relatives suffering in this season of great mutation and disruption as we call in the strength we need to attend to and act upon the call of this crisis to transform, to free ourselves from poverty and oppression…

i love this image of the last supper reframed as the first supper and see myself gathered in commonunity as i’ve been able to today re-membering the brown-skinned homeless refugee named Jesus who held this feast as he and his followers organized and engaged in a moral revolution disrupting the old order just as we are being called today to overturn the old and move into a new world...

so here we are gathered together believing in the possibility of possibility knowing in ou bones we do not have to be stuck, we are being here for each other, loving each other, being peace unto each other and in each of these actions we are the more beautiful world we all know is possible…

yes, as we feast at this first supper, a celebration of unconditional love, may we commit to being wholly disrupters, agents of transformation co-creating a world of peace built on justice and guided by compassion and lovingkindness for all our relatives…
