Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 196 – 6/30/2017

Named Joyfull June 30 Poetic Peace Pilgrim at Waterfall in Silence

how can it possibly be the last day of joyfull june? what a space overflowing with so many blessings as this moon’s pilgrimage transported us deeper and deeper into the heart of silence, the stillpoint of creation where the generative energy of creativity creates creation in the blessed space between us…

today als0 marks the opening of a new journey… of course, the same could be said with every breath… we are always on an endless voyage into the great unknown… let’s pause in this beautiful moment to bless this space between us…

For the Traveler

Every time you leave home,
Another road takes you
Into a world you were never in.

New strangers on other paths await.
New places that have never seen you
Will startle a little at your entry.
Old places that know you well
Will pretend nothing
Changed since your last visit.

When you travel, you find yourself
Alone in a different way,
More attentive now
To the self you bring along,
Your more subtle eye watching
You abroad; and how what meets you
Touches that part of the heart
That lies low at home:

How you unexpectedly attune
To the timbre in some voice,
Opening in conversation
You want to take in
To where your longing
Has pressed hard enough
Inward, on some unsaid dark,
To create a crystal of insight
You could not have known
You needed
To illuminate
Your way.

When you travel,
A new silence
Goes with you,
And if you listen,
You will hear
What your heart would
Love to say.

A journey can become a sacred thing:
Make sure, before you go,
To take the time
To bless your going forth,
To free your heart of ballast
So that the compass of your soul
Might direct you toward
The territories of spirit
Where you will discover
More of your hidden life,
And the urgencies
That deserve to claim you.

May you travel in an awakened way,
Gathered wisely into your inner ground;
That you may not waste the invitations
Which wait along the way to transform you.

May you travel safely, arrive refreshed,
And live your time away to its fullest;
Return home more enriched, and free
To balance the gift of days which call you.

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 195 – 6/29/2017

Named Joyfull June 29 July B'day Pilgrimage 029 Walk Home

thank you for walking home with me along the rainbow trail to Tahoma, the great mother of mountains and cathedral of stillness… today marks a sacred anniversary… two years of sauntering the devotional path, seven hundred thirty-one days of opening portals of grace, seventeen thousand five hundred forty-four hours of offering the wounds of us all up for clean-sing, six hundred and twelve thousand moments of being breathed into a life more abundant…

thank you Beloved for breaking our hearts open ever wider empowering us to see through the eyes of love, to deepen in the way of compassion, to stretch our capacity for patience and trust, to flow in the peace that passeth all understanding in this moment, this beautiful moment…

deepest bows to my beloved contemplative partner whose steadfast love brings us to this moment and to all transmitters and receivers populating our one cosmic sea of love energy…

thanks be, thanks be, thanks be, thanks be, thanks be, beloveds…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 194 – 6/28/2017

Named Joyfull June 28 Sunflower Festival Aug 2014 002 Farmer of Heart.

at 21, i was given heirloom seeds of devotion… at 42, i planted the seeds saying a mantra over them daily about being a midwife of heart consciousness… at 63, i began devotedly tending, caring for, watering, chanting over these seeds in co-llaboration with Beloved and an earth angel…

we are coming to the close of two years of daily practice, another year of surrendering in trust ever more deeply, melting into the divine ever more seamlessly, another year of outer seeing diminishment and inner seeing acceleration…

truly, two years of magic which i define as change in consciousness flowing ever more rapidly and at an increased frequency, two years of being in an altered state more and more and more… two years of real-eye-sing more and more profoundly the grace always washing through us, two years of deep descent, two years of stretching, two years of moving at the speed of light while being perfectly still…

two wild, wilder turns around the radiant sun of planting the seeds of devotion, of being farmers of the heart…

thousandfold thanks for joining us in this daily practice of clean-sing, yes, we are all involved for we all live in the same field and are all breathed into life by the same spirit… deep, deep bows and re-joy-sing in coming home…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 193 – 6/27/2017

Named Joyfull June 27 OM

It’s the silence,
not the sound, that defines magic of Aum.

The connection to the silence behind the sound is everywhere, at all times.

so, join me this moment in chanting a couple of mantras from the sanskrit peace collection under this moon of coming aum to the heart…

~

May peace radiate there in the whole sky as well as in the vast ethereal space everywhere.
May peace reign all over this earth, in water and in all herbs, trees and creepers.
May peace flow over the whole universe.
May peace be in the Supreme Being Brahman.
And may there always exist in all peace and peace alone.
Aum peace, peace and peace to us and all beings!

~

Lead us from the unreal to the real
Lead us from darkness to light
Lead us from death to immortality
Aum peace, peace, peace!

~

This gift of love is given to source for the gift of life more abundant…May this gift bless all beings…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 192 – 6/26/2017

Named Joyfull June 26 Grace

as this pilgrim approaches the second anniversary of daily/nightly walking a pilgrimage of grace,

may we all rise up singing…

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found;

Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

And grace my fears relieved;

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,

I have already come;

’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,

And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,

His Word my hope secures;

He will my Shield and Portion be,

As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

And mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess, within the veil,

A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,

The sun forbear to shine;

But God, who called me here below,

Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Than when we’d first begun.

This gift of love is given to source for the gift of life more abundant…May this gift bless all our relations as it expands and returns a thousand thousandfold…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 191 – 6/25/2017

Named Joyfull June 25 PEACE Day 2017 Astonishing Light of Being -06-21 003

welcome to this week’s installment of an image showing the astonishing light of being… and some words to shed more astonishing light on this subject of painting the radiant sunlight of being… breathe in light, breathe out love…

Instructions to Painters & Poets

I asked a hundred painters and a hundred poets
how to paint sunlight
on the face of life
Their answers were ambiguous and ingenuous
as if they were all guarding trade secrets
Whereas it seems to me
all you have to do
is conceive of the whole world
and all humanity
as a kind of art work
a site-specific art work
an art project of the god of light
the whole earth and all that’s in it
to be painted with light

And the first thing you have to do
is paint out postmodern painting
And the next thing is to paint yourself
in your true colors
in primary colors
as you seem them
(without whitewash)
paint yourself as you see yourself
without make-up
without masks
Then paint your favorite people and animals
with your brush loaded with light
And be sure you get the perspective right
and don’t fake it
because one false line leads to another

And then paint the high hills
when the sun first strikes them
on an autumn morning
With your palette knife
lay it on
the cadmium yellow leaves
the ochre leaves
the vermillion leaves
of a New England autumn
And paint the ghost light of summer nights
and the light of the midnight sun
which is moon light
And don’t paint out the shadows made by light

for without chiaroscuro you’ll have shallow pictures
So paint all the dark corners too
everywhere in the world
all the hidden places and minds and hearts
which light never reaches
all the caves of ignorance and fear
the pits of despair
the sloughs of despond
and write plain upon them
“Abandon all despair, ye who enter here”

And don’t forget to paint
all those who lived their lives
as bearers of light
Paint their eyes
and the eyes of every animal
and the eyes of beautiful women
known best for the perfection of their breasts
and the eyes of men and women
known only for the light of their minds
Paint the light of their eyes
the light of sunlit laughter
the song of eyes
the song of birds in flight

And remember that the light is within
if it is anywhere
and you must paint from the inside
Start with purity
with pure white
the pure white of gesso
the pure white of cadmium white
the pure white of flake white
the pure virgin canvas
the pure life we all begin with

Turner painted sunlight
with egg tempera
(which proved unstable)
and Van Gogh did it with madness
and the blood of his ear
(also unstable)
and the Impressionists did it
by never using black
and the Abstract Expressionists did it
with white house paint
But you can do it with the pure pigment
(if you can figure out the formula)
of your own true light
But before you striek the first blow
on the virgin canvas
remember its fagility
life’s extreme fragility
and remember its innocence
its original innocence
before you strike the first blow

Or perhaps never strike it
And let the light come through
the inner light of the canvas
the inner light of the models posed
in the life study
the inner light of everyone
Let it all come through
like a pentimento
the light that’s been painted over
the life that’s been painted over
so many times
Let it all surge to the surface
the painted-over image
of primal life on earth

And when you’ve finished your painting
stand back astonished
stand back and observe
the life on earth that you’ve created
the lighted life on earth
that you’ve created
a new brave world

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 190 – 6/24/2017

Named Joyfull June 24 Be Full of SELF!

I’ll tell you the mystery of life,

Life is not a mystery at all.

It is a simple mastery of the self.

~ Yogi Bhajan ~

what a pilgrimage of radiance this week is, this week of being full of SELF = Stillness Essence Love Flow, this week of a new member of the family whose name means radiance, this week of World Refugee Day, Soulstice, World PEACE and Prayer Day, World Yoga Day and on and on… every moment a galvanizing moment to stand in love for love… in turbulence, more and more need for more and more loving presence, more and more trust in divine unfolding, more and more surrender to divine flow… hear now this lovely prayer so perfect, as metaphor, for this moment invoked by the Reverend Kevin Ross last week at the US House of Representatives…

May we turn within and look higher to the God of our understanding and pray.

Loving Presence, we invoke from the celestial balconies the witness of the pioneers of our progress whose bloodied journeys marshaled unprecedented faith and birthed a new nation of radical inclusion.

Bless these sons and daughters of promise gathered in this, the people’s House. Let them reach higher for crowns of conscience to exemplify compassion and bring from their districts to their desks sharp pencils that carve on their hearts the faces of freedom that they represent.

Let this House be an incubator for our best ideals, not a prison for our poorest politics.

Let these heroes and sheroes of the people’s House summon the intellectual imagination and intuitive navigation to serve bolder together and break through the ideological gridlock that arrests the potential of our great Republic.

Let these innovators of cooperation and builders of the beloved community reunite these States of America and lead the way for a world that works for all.

This is enough. In the name of a love supreme we pray, and so it is. Amen

Named Joyfull June 23 Moon New with Rainbow++

where there is no vision, the people perish…

proverbs 29:18

~

welcome to the mother of all new moons, hear cancer whispering to great mother ocean… it is the moment for rebirth, for new beginnings, for a vastly expanded vision with a deeper and fuller connection of our soul’s desires, for finding our true home – our one heart and opening wider and wider in strength and courage and trust to face and embrace what is with love and wisdom and compassion transmuting the base ingredients into into a harmonious symphony of the sea riding the waves of pure delight and like the new moon rising, we seed the cosmic field with light

~

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

on the last day of the sixth moon of this turn around the sun, here is a painted pony image of this pivotal moon of navigating the journey… how do we navigate? when i tune into the wisdom of this painted pony so lovingly crafted by one of my favorite poetic peace pilgrim artists and am transported to a historic lighthouse on the outer banks of the tarheel state, the message is simple and clear… stand still in your radiance and shine; in silence, listen to the whispers of the heart and follow with your whole heart and an unwavering YES!

always being love, always becoming more love…

Poetic PEACE Pilgrimage – Year 4 – Day 187 – 6/21/2017

Named Joyfull June 21 Sunflower Festival Aug 2014 002 JOY.

If you are seeking, seek us with joy
For we live in the kingdom of joy.
Do not give your heart to anything else
But to the love of those who are clear joy,
Do not stray into the neighborhood of despair.
For there are hopes: they are real, they exist –
Do not go in the direction of darkness –
I tell you: suns exist.

~ Rumi ~

some moments these words are easier to re-member than others and they are always true, paradoxical and true… the last few weeks have been filled with challenges on so many levels and like ocean waves they rise and pass away and the ocean of joy still remains, peace at the center of the dancing stillpoint… for in this moment, this beautiful moment, we are one vast sunflower field of radiant love… yes, suns exist and moons and rains and clouds and tears and pains and joy in this moment, in every moment, in every wild precious moment…
