something so powerful is happening here… from the far corners of the earth, our one heart is stirred to join with our co-hearts’ rallying cry to protect the waters, our sacred waters for water is our mother, water is our life…
listen to this update from one of the many keepers of the water at Standing Rock as Katrina Coravos takes us down o the waters where we stand in solidarity as protectors of the waters…
Update from Standing Rock!
(share if called)
Every morning, as women, we go to the Cannonball River to pray. Every morning we go to the kitchens to collect the prayers of all the women who cook and serve the people to carry with us.
Every morning we travel down to the waters together, in song, and place our feet in the sacred mud.
We offer food, herbs, and our tears to the four directions.
We cry for our waters, for our Earth, for one another.
There is healing in our tears. The salt transforms, and our hearts mend the fracturing of our world.
We as women are making space for emotions to flow, for feelings to run free. We will no longer bottle up, damn up, or ignore.
We are healing the waters because we are healing ourselves.
We are the keepers of the water.
When we fully embrace that we are sacred, the waters will be held as sacred.
We walk back to camp together, singing a women’s strength song. We gather around the sacred fire. The men make space for us, take their hats off for us, and welcome us back home.
Inside this movement is deep prayer. There are many that come to heal, to connect with spirit, to connect with one another, and to mend the divisions between us.
The unification of the people is here. Many believe that this is the solution to the problems of our world.
We must unify our hearts. We must unify our voices. We must speak from love: our love of life, our love for the Mother, our love for the sacred waters.
Our love is what is going to heal this, it is already in motion, the healing has begun….
